Basically your canik MUST comes with several plates, this sight fits on one of the plate marked as #01 plate for doctor/vortex type screw hole. Again, if your canik tp9 does NOT comes with plate when you purchase the pistol, that is likely your canik is NOT a optics ready pistol, it can not attach an red dot unless you pay a machine shop to custom mil a cut on the slide
